Here we are going to mention some of the Top Beaches of the World. As I keep mentioning throughout this website, this a very personal view based on my trips around the world and lots of research and experience of more than forty year in the Travel Industry.
There are hundreds, perhaps thousands beautiful beaches around the world but to make a list we have to find what we and other people think are the best and top of them.
Here is my list of Ten Top Beaches of the World
Boracay Beaches in the Philippines
Boracay Beaches were hailed by Yahoo Travel as one of the Top Beaches of the world. Nothing can be truer than that. Boracay Island in the Philippines has more than a dozen beaches and all have in common white sands and crystal cool and clear waters.
It is about 4 Km long and located approximately 350 Km south of Manila, the capital. The whole island is about seven Km long and about 1 Km wide. It is a wonderful paradise.
Clifton Beach in Cape Town South Africa
This is a highlight to any visit to Cape Town in South Africa. These are actually four beaches interlinked with huge granite boulders dividing one from another.
It is Cape Town’s in place located between Camps Bay and Sea Point. Beach lovers flock to these beaches constantly.
The first beach is the least visited but its beauty is like the others. The second beach is a meeting place for university students.
The third beach is practically the Gay Beach of Cape Town. The fourth is the most frequented.
On any given day you’ll see young people playing volleyball and trying to enjoy life like any young people of the world.
It is one of the most expensive residential areas of the city.
Biarritz Beach in France
This French Biarritz Beach resort is famous since the 19th Century. Then Emperor Napoleon III and his wife Eugenie used to love the place and made it their favorite summer vacation spot. These beaches have to be enjoyed in the fullness of summer.
The beach is very nice. It is not the typical white sands beach but the chic atmosphere felt here is unique. It is located in the Bay of Biscay which is the Atlantic coast of France’s southwest. This area is Basque territory and you will see lots of symbols to that fact.
Maldives Beaches on the Indian Ocean
The Maldives are more than twelve hundred islands where visitors enjoy the serenity of nature like in no other place. The tropical beaches of these islands on the Indian Ocean are surrounded by palm trees that provide the necessary shade for sunbathers
Some of the most famous Maldives Beaches are Mirihi Island Beach, Bandos Island Beach, Fun Island Beach and Kunuhura Island Beach.
Costa del Sol in Spain
Spanish beaches are well known for their quality as well as the atmosphere felt in every corner with this unique Spanish flavor that we all love.
Most of the beaches of Spain in the Atlantic or the Mediterranean are great but I think the best are concentrated in Costa del Sol that stretches east of Gibraltar and hosts the beach resorts of Marbella, Torremolinos, Malaga and Nerja. Here you’ll find everything from soaring skyscrapers to small fishing villages to sophisticated resorts.
St Martin Beaches in the Caribbean
St Martin Beaches are among the most beautiful in the Caribbean and perhaps in the world. They compare only with those of the South Pacific. St Martin is the French section of the island shared with Dutch St Maarten.
Both sections live in such harmony that besides some difference in languages you won’t notice you are in two different sovereignty. In my personal opinion the number one of St Martin Beaches is Baie Oriental or Orient Beach that attracts many tourists. It is the island’s only “clothing optional” beach. Other beaches to mention are Nettle Bay, Long Bay, Grand Case Beach, Anse Marcel Beach and Happy Bay Beach.
Maroma Beach in the Mayan Riviera Mexico
Maroma Beach has acquired several titles, like Mexico’s best kept secret or one of the best beaches in the world. It is located about 30 miles south of Cancun, in the Mayan Riviera Mexico, where you'll find some of the top beaches of the world.
It didn’t catch up with the big crowds of Cancun and it is still a separate and quiet place to unwind and relax in its white sands and azure waters of the Mexican Caribbean.
Nungwi Beach in Zanzibar
Zanzibar is an island on the Indian Ocean part of the country of Tanzania. The white beaches are ideal for relax and sunbath during the day or for sightseeing watching the picturesque fishing villages where the people live their live alien to the outside world. In the evening the whole place vibrates with party spirit full of food cocktails and music.
Phuket Beaches in Thailand
Phuket is an Island of about 540 Sq Km off the coast of
Thailand. The west coast of the island offers stunning views and some of the top beaches of the world.
One of them is Patong the most famous of Phuket’s resorts. This is a favorite place for young crowds to have fun and play. The nightlife here is mindboggling. Other beaches in Phuket are Karon Beach, Kata Beach, Kata Noi Beach, Kamala Beach and Laem Singh Beach
Trunk Bay St John in the US Virgin Islands
This one we visited many times when living in Puerto Rico. Once in St Thomas USVI, you have to go to the far east of the island and take a ferry to St John USVI that has no air service. Actually St John is mostly a National Park protected by the National Park Administration of the United States.
Trunk bay Beach is a secluded bay surrounded by lush vegetation and white sands that caress your toes. The waters are like no others, calm and blue like heaven. In neighboring St Thomas there is a big competitor to this beach, I mean Magen’s Bay which is as beautiful as this one.
