The city beaches are located in the Promenade Pablo Picasso, lined with restaurants and bars. Here a few of the best beaches in the city.

  • La Malagueta

This Spanish beach is the most popular of all and the closest to the city center. It is a man made beach with many amenities, bars and restaurants. There are sun beds and umbrellas for rent, besides showers and bathrooms. There is ample parking for the beach goers.

  • El Palo Beach

This is a family oriented beach with all facilities like showers, telephones, parking and bars and restaurants.

You may rent your sun beds and umbrellas and enjoy a great day on the beach.

  • Las Acacias Pedralejo

This beach is oriented to families with small children. The waters are calm with a Blue Flag designation.

They provide a life guard and all the rest of expected amenities.

  • Baños del Carmen

Located in front of the city, it is a small beach offering ample parking and restaurants besides the famous “Chiringuitos” equivalent to Beach Bars.

This beach is known for good fishing. You may rent a boat and practice your favorite sport.

  • La Caleta

This one km long beach is next to La Malagueta and parallel to the high condominiums of Malaga City. This is a very clean and organized beach with all facilities.

  • San Julian Guadalmar

It is located next to the Golf Course that belongs to Parador Malaga Golf Hotel and is under the airport runway.

This beach is officially a nudist beach as per Malaga Municipality. However the crowd on this beach is mixed.

  • Playa Huelín

Located on the Antonio Bandera Promenade is a busy Costa del Sol beach with life guards and many facilities.

  • Playa de San Andres

Located on the mouth of the Guadalmar River this is a 2 km beach with a characteristic that it can be seen from far because of the towers of the old sugar factories. It has all amenities and a few restaurants and bars.

  • Misericordia Beach

This beach in the city of Málaga, the waters are shallow and crystal clear, the sands are as fine as you may find in Costa del Sol. There are many Chiringuitos selling the typical “Pescaitos” or deep fried fish.

During summers these beaches offer free screening movies for the delight of locals and visitors.

Cala del Cañuelo

It is located on the east coast of Malaga. It is a pebble beach with crystal clear blue waters and enough marine life undersea to make it ideal for scuba diving and snorkeling.
