Los Angeles Beaches are spread out over a large coastline in the Pacific Ocean. We’ll talk about the Romantic Beach El Matador, The Surfers’ Beach Malibu Surfrider Beach, and the classic sand beach of Santa Monica Beach and above all the Peoples Watcher Venice Beach.

Venice Beach is the best beach in the area of LA
Located in Venice CA, some consider it as the best in the area. This beach is about people besides swimming and surfing. Many come here to see and be seen especially on the Ocean Front Walk.
A stroll on this boardwalk is an experience by itself. Watch for body builders, folk artists, music bands, jugglers and even palm readers.
The Romantic Beach of El Matador near Malibu
El Matador Beach
This is the Romantic Beach “Par Excellence”. Located about 10 miles northwest of Malibu, this is a secluded beach with rocky shores and the clearest water of the area.
Enjoy a sunset picnic in one of the hidden coves, some so small which will fit only the two of you.
This beach is best for swimming, body boarding, body surfing and above all a romantic getaway. The beach is small and can be crowded in summer, making parking difficult to find.
Malibu Surfrider Beach
There is no better place in the area than this beach for surfboarding. Sometimes you don’t have to be a surfer.
In fact you may just seat on the beach and be a spectator of the young crowd trying to catch a wave.
It is so close to the former Surfrider Beach that it may be treated as one. But on this one you have more than just swimming, by just exploring this exclusive neighborhood.
This beach is great for tide pooling, swimming, fishing, walking, and beach volleyball.
To reach this beach you have to pay for parking that will give you access to a restaurant and nice sands beach.

Santa Monica Beach
This is one of the most popular beaches in LA, It is located north of the famous Santa Monica Pier.
It is an old beach offering all facilities and plenty of space for walking, a game of volleyball.

This is a trendy beach with lots of beautiful people, sport cars and big sunglasses. Many TV shows have been filmed here
It has a few regulations and rules for swimming and surfing; so please abide by them.
This is a busy beach, where there is always something going on, like bicycling, volleyball, fishing of plain swimming and walking.
It is an urban beach and it may be quiet busy during summers, but being in the middle of downtown you’ll be able to walk around have some drinks and maybe some shopping.
Cabrillo Beach near San Pedro, CA
Located near San Pedro, this is the perfect beach for families with kids. Located on a thin peninsula near Point Fermin Park it actually has two sides, one outside the breakwater that’s open to the surf, and one that’s open to the harbor.
The nearby Cabrillo Marine Aquarium is where you may enjoy the interactive exhibits, tide pool touch tanks and other unforgettable attractions.
This is a combination of a beautiful stretch of sand with plenty of space for swimming and playing, and a seaside community with outdoor cafes and shops.
This makes this beach so special for families, couples and singles alike.
Point Dume State Beach
This sheltered beach provides nice vistas from the top of the sand. It is a beach for fishing, swimming, scuba diving, tide pooling, and whale watching in winter.
Since it is located further out of the metropolitan LA area it means smaller crowds, and keeping the beach only for you “Hopefully”.
Abalone Cove, Palos Verdes
The Palos Verdes peninsula is home to two beaches with awesome ocean views.
People come here for swimming and just relaxing trying to catch a good suntan. To get there it takes some time, since it is a long drive from the Freeway, but it is worth the effort.
The northernmost Los Angeles beach has lots of room and if you're lucky, you may see dolphins in the surf. This beach is for surfing, swimming, beach volleyball and whale watching during winter.
This is a very busy beach on weekends and some days of the week.
