Kythnos Island, one of the Cyclades Islands has many beautiful beaches, many of them well organized for all tastes and preferences.
Some beaches are for naturists on many of the secluded coves around the island.
Some of the best beaches in Kythnos, are located on the south west part of the island as well as the north east coast, including Loutra beach, and the impressive Kolona beach which is considered one of the best and most unique of all of Greece Beaches.

This amazing beach connects the island of Agios Loukas with the rest of Kythnos while forming a white stretch of sand with crystal clear sapphire waters on both sides.
This unique beach attracts many visitors because of its
magic beauty and serenity. It is one of the best known beaches in Kythnos and
can be reached by 4x4 or by sea. This is a great example of Greek Islands Beaches.
There is a tavern nearby offering visitors with delicious dishes. That said, a visit to this beach while on Kythnos Island is an unforgettable experience.
Loutra Beach in Kythnos features thermal waters
This beach is well known for its thermal springs that extend into the sea providing healing properties.
It is a nice wide beach and due to the fact that one of the hot springs runs freely on the right side of the beach, Loutra is a beach you cannot miss and have a nice swim while in Kythnos.
There is a great tavern on the side of the marina offering refreshments and delicious dishes.
Fykiada Beach next to Kolona is still virgin and underdeveloped
It is located next to the dirt road between Apokrousi beach and Kolona beach. This Aegean beauty is still virgin and is just next to Kolona. On the left side of the beach you’ll find a bar.
This beach is also near the Church of Virgin Mary offering a relaxing ambience for visitors and locals alike.
This beach is one of the largest beaches on the island with fine golden sand and trees offering abundant shade to the swimmers.
Some people considered it the best of Kythnos beaches. Surrounded by hills this beach offers an oasis of calm and relaxation with crystal clear waters and a spectacular view of Kolona Beach.
Episkopi beach is a Blue Flag beach on Kythnos Island
With many tamarisk trees this Blue Flag Beach offers the visitor an oasis of relaxation. This is a 500 meters beach of white sands and crystalline waters ideal for sunbathing and swimming.
It is considered a great choice for families with small children because it is protected from the winds during the summer months.
Located just outside Merihas on the way to Chora, this is one of the busiest beaches on Kythnos Island and at the same time very popular with the young crowd.
Stay late on the beach and enjoy of the most amazing sunsets on the island.
This is a popular beach retreat right next the port of Merihas. It is golden sands beach very popular due to its location and easy access.
Visitors my swim in the clear blue waters or catch some shade under one of the many tamarisk trees.
Kanala Beach on the village of Kanala, Kythnos
This is a nice small pebbled beach right in front of the Village of Kanala. This beach is ideal for swimming and diving into the clear blue waters and then catch some shade under the trees.
There are a few taverns nearby offering refreshments and delicious food.
These are actually two beaches Little Flampouria and Large Flampouria. It is a mix of sand and pebbles surrounded by tamarisk trees. It is great for diving.
Named after the Chapel of Agios Dimitrios, near the same name village, this is an inviting beach with thick sands and crystal clear sapphire waters. There is enough shade under the trees.
Martinakia Beach near Merihas village and port in Kythnos
This is a small beach next to Merihas village and port. Once on the beach you’ll have a nice view of the boats arriving and leaving from Merihas.
The area is adorable and just a few steps from the Port of Kythnos, ideal for those that don’t like to venture far.
This beach is close to Dryopida village and is covered with sand and pebbles. On Lefkes beach there are some Tamarisk trees as on most beaches of Kythnos which will provide for you the necessary shade.
Aliki Beach on the south coast of Kythnos Island
Located on the south side of Kythnos, it has no trees or any type of shade. Just the Blue Aegean Sea, the blue sky and the dry stone walls surrounding the beach.
Take with you some food and refreshments before you hit the hard dirt road and you’ll find it before Agios Dimitrios village.
Kouri and Zogaki Twin Beaches
Kouri and Zogaki beaches are two beaches next to each other with capes and islets that remind you of the fjords. The twin beaches are sandy and have some trees for shade. They connect to each other with a small path and some steps.
