The largest island in the Adriatic Sea
The island, located near Rijeka on the mainland is about 410 sq km in territory and a perimeter of about 200 km of shoreline.
It is the closest island to the mainland and therefore an easy to access tourist spot for visitors from the rest of Europe.
Since 1980 a 1.6 km long bridge was built to connect Krk to the mainland making its access even easier.
It is an island full of surprises and beautiful beaches; a thousand years old towns and small rural villages with quite restaurants and bars.
But let me stick to what I know best, and show you best of Krk Island Beaches.
A few of the beaches have been awarded the “Blue Flag” due to its services and cleanliness.
Others less developed don’t have the blue flag but are equally clean and with the purest waters of the Adriatic.
Klimno Beach on the eastern side of the Island of Krk, Croatia
Some call it the Cove of Soline is located on the eastern side of the island. The area has a few towns, Klimno Soline and Cizici. This spectacular bay has a few sandy beaches.
On the western side of the bay this is a 400 meters long by 40 meters wide sandy beach. Thjis site is known for its healing mud. I love this beach because you may walk inside even a hundred meters and the water still reaches to your knees. It makes ideal for families with small children. The whole bay has such level of the waters, making it very attractive to visitors.
This beach is next to Klimno Village. The beach is only 30meters long by 5 meters wide. It has a dense pine wood forest providing a lot of shade to this small beach.
Cizici Beach in Krk Island Croatia is surrounded by lush vegetation
Located near Soline, this is mostly a port in the beautiful Soline Bay. The beach is sandy although with some rocky portions. It is surrounded by lush vegetation. You may continue to Meline Beach by foot.In this area you may find many shops and some bars and restaurants.
This fine sand beach and crystal clear waters is located near Rudine. This is a laid back beach for relaxation and is accessible by land and by sea.
The area around Baska Village has the best beaches in Krk Croatia
Located on the southern part of Krk Island this the area with the most beautiful beaches not only in Krk but in the whole area including the mainland.
Located in Baska, this is a popular beach with children and a Young crowd that is attracted by the loud music coming out of the bars on the beach.
They have all kind of facilities for water sports, and you may rent a pedal-boat and some scooters.
Bunkulica Beack in Krk Croatia has some secluded naturists spots
Located near Baska is this naturist camp. It is a full beach for all but as you walk through the vegetation you’ll get the naturists side of the beach
Besides blue transparent waters and pebbled beach you have a few restaurants to make you visit most enjoyable.
This is another area with beautiful beaches some of them well known as Hadulovo with its promenade and the nudist beach of Rajska Plaza meaning Paradise Beach.
The beach remains as nature created it and the people visiting enjoy such naturalist atmosphere.

Silo Beach in Krk Island Croatia great for a Family Vacation
This is a family beach great for children. The visitors are also attracted by the healing mud found on this beach.
This is the area of Hotel Riviera with pebble and sandy beaches. For those looking for some solitude the is a seclude nude beach camp on the hidden coves.
This is quiet fishing village with a small harbor for sailing boats. The beach itself is beautiful and has a blue flag.
Krk Island is one more proof that Croatia has some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe and the world. This lovely country with such a long coast and thousands of islands will captivate any visitor to its shores.
