Kerala Beaches are bathed by the Arabian Sea. Kerala is a district located on the southwest of India and enjoys one of the most beautiful beaches of this vast subcontinent.

The palm lined beaches of Kerala with crystal clear waters, an always shining sun and fine sands are a delight for worldwide tourists. The local people are humble and ready to serve and attract more tourists to their region.

Varkala Beach

Also known as Papanasham beach, this is one of the “WOW” beaches in India for its beauty. There is an Indian saying that “One dip into this beach removes the sins committed in a lifetime”

This beach is known for its natural hot springs, thought to have curative properties and features long stretches of fine white sands

Located one hour of Trivandrum in Kerala, this beach offers restaurants and bars for the comfort of visitors.

It is also a famous pilgrim center. The 2000 year old Janardana Swamy Temple and the Nature Center are the main attractions of Varkala Beach.

Kovalam Beach

Some say it’s the best beach in Kerala, it is known for fine sands and many palm trees groves. The waters are calm, therefore perfect for sunbathing and quiet swimming. It is located south Thiruvanathapuram.

Shanghumukham Beach

Located 9 Km from Kerala’s Capital of Thiruvananthapuram, this is a popular beach. In this beach you’ll find a 35 meter sculpture of a mermaid called “Matsya Kanyaka".

Veli Lagoon

Located on the outskirts of the capital of Kerala it is now a major tourist resort with a beautiful park and boat club.

Here tourists enjoy all kind of water sports such as pedal boating, row boating, swimming and more.

Somatheeram Beach

This beach is known for its Ayurvedic treatment centers that can be done on the beach. The beauty of the beach together with the treatments creates the perfect scene for a rejuvenation session.

Thirumullavaram Beach

Located 6 Km north of Kollam, this is a quiet beach ideal for family vacations and picnics. The Vishnu Temple is just across from the beach.

Thangasseri Beach

Located 5 Km from Kollam it features and old Portuguese Fort and Churches built in the 18th century on the beach.

This beach is situated 5 kilometers from Kollam Town. It gains historical importance by the presence of an old Portuguese fort and churches, built in 18th century, on the seaside.

Alappuzha Beach

This is a gem in Kerala, covered with dense palm groves and long sandy stretches. It is an old tourist spot featuring Vijay Park with an old lighthouse and boating facilities.

Marari Beach

Located in the spice coast about 50 KM from Cochin near the town of Alappuzha, this a beautiful stretch of soft sands fringed with palm trees and an eternal great climate.

Arthunkal Beach

It is located in Chertala, a small seaside 20 km from Alappuzha. It is a famous pilgrimage center as they come to visit St Andrew’s Church with its patron saint the Italian Saint Sebastian.

Willingdon Island

This is a wonderful man made island named after Lord Willingdon, the erstwhile British viceroy. The Willingdon Island was formed by depositing the mud taken while increasing the depth of Cochin port

Bolgatty Island

Located near Cochin it features the beautiful Bolgatty Palace one of the oldest Dutch palaces outside of the Netherlands. It is blessed by lush vegetation of palm trees and bamboos.

Nattika Beach

This wide virgin beach with golden sands and palm trees is located 30 Km from Thrissur. It is great for family holidays.

Beypore in Kozhikode

This is a small coastal town that has become a prominent port. It is located on the mouth of the Chaliyar River sout of Calicut. It has an important ship building yard.

Pathiramanal Island

It is located inside Kerala’s largest lake the Vemabanadu. It is a beautiful and calm island with a gorgeous view.

Kappad beach

The claim of fame of this beach is that Vasco-da-Gama landed here with 170 men in three vessels in 1498. The landing place is marked by a small stone monument which is considered as a memorial.

Dharmadam Island,

It is located in Kannur, Kerala, South India. It is a small island covered with coconut palms and green bushes.

Kizhunna Beach

This is one of the most secluded beaches in Kerala. It has a beautiful stretch of sand and is 11 km away from Kannur.

Muzhappilangad Beach

This is one of the longest beaches in Kerala, located 15 Km south of Kannur. It is one of the few drive in beaches in India.

Payyambalam Beach

Only 2 Km from Kannur it is a perfect site for picnics. It is a lovely beach with a laid back environment

Bakel Fort

This 300 years old fort is the oldest and best preserved fort in Kerala. It runs into the Arabian Sea and stands at 50 meters above sea level.
