Curacao Beaches are a best kept secret in the Caribbean. The
more than 30 beaches of this island are small, intimate and with many secluded
coves. Most of them are ideal for Curacao Diving.
Most of them are located on the west of the island called West Pont or in Papiamentu “West punt”. Like in Spanish they are called Playas, and topless sun bathing is tolerated within the beach resorts. They are considered among the top Caribbean Beaches.

Curaçao or Kòrsou is an island in the southern Caribbean Sea, approximately 65 Km north of the Venezuelan coast that is a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Formally called the Country of Curaçao, it includes the main island and the uninhabited island of Klein Curaçao.
It has a population of over 150,000 on an area of 444 Sq Km. Willemstad Curacao is the capital. The official language is Dutch; and Papiamentu is the spoken language of the population. English and Spanish are widely spoken.
Curacao is one of the ABC Islands together with Aruba and Bonaire Island.
Blue Bay Beach ideal for families with small children
Located northwest of Willemstad, near the village of St Michiel, is this popular beach with many facilities. Its sands are white and soft. The sea floor slopes gently from the shore, making it ideal for children to swim and play.
It offers many facilities like chairs, umbrellas, water sports center for diving and kayaking, and a nice bar and restaurant.
Playa Kalki near the Kura Hulanda Resort
Kalki means limestone in Papiamentu, so this beach is surrounded by limestone cliffs. The shade provided by the many trees ensures the proper ambiance for a great day at the beach.
It is located near the famous resort Kura Hulanda Lodge, it the area called West Punt. This small cove is known for its diving and snorkeling.
It offers a shady terrace and snack bar and the nearby Kura Hulanda has fine restaurants and bars.
Knip Beach is Curacao's longest one
Also called Playa Kenepa Grandi it is a very popular beach among locals. It is ideal for swimming and sun bathing surrounded by beautiful views.
It is Curacao’s longest beach with soft powdery white sands and crystal clear blue waters. It may be busy during weekends but during the week you may have the beach just for yourself.
Called Playa Kenepa Chiki is a family oriented beach with barbecue facilities. It is great for swimming, but it may be quite crowded during weekends.
Curacao Beaches
Playa Jeremi This is the beach you want to leave for later in the day, since there is no shade or facilities. At this time of day you may appreciate the clear waters. Then comes sunset, be prepared for an amazing experience.

Boca Santa Cruz This is a popular beach with locals especially during the weekends. Here you will find Captain Goodlife, a legend in Curacao. It is now a bit commercialized with a restaurant and the renowned Water Tours with Captain Goodlife.

Cas Abao Beach
This beach offers many umbrellas on a white sand beach with crystal clear waters. Its reefs are a dream for snorkelers and divers. It offers a bar, restaurant, showers, toilets and a dive shop. |
Playa Porto Mari in a private estate on the west coast
All activities at Porto Mari Beach are managed in an environmentally responsible manner.
For example, water is recycled and used for the toilets and irrigation purposes. Its beach side restaurant and bar offer a variety of meals and local drinks.
Located on the west coast on a private estate, it features a double reef which is easily accessible from the shore, providing an ideal dive site.
It is Curacao’s best diving site and for many locals also the island’s best beach. Without a doubt it is great for families with small kids.
With some palapas available for the much needed shade and shallow waters it is a great free beach. Snorkelers have a treat on its shallow waters. It features a bar restaurant.

Kontiki Beach in Curacao is a full service beach
This is a full service beach with water sports, diving facilities, shops, beach bar and a great restaurant. The surf is stopped by a wave breaker, making it ideal for small children, to play on the shore.
Also called Vaersenbaai, it features a restaurant and a beach bar. Palm trees provide the needed shade and there are lounge chairs for rent. It features showers and toilets.
There is a diving school on the premises as well as a dive platform in from to the pier.
Officially called the Seaquarium Beach, it is also the Nightlife Beach of Curacao with frequent performances by local artists. Located a few minutes’ walk from Lion Dive & Beach Hotels, it features a good restaurant.

Jan Thiel Beach is Curacao's Happiest Beach
It is located on a new upscale residential area east of town. Although a beach with little sand it offers children friendly semi enclosed wading area resembling a swimming pool and a small water park.
Called “Curacao’s Happiest Beach” it is a real Caribbean family beach. It features a restaurant, live music and a child friendly area.
Being part of an underwater park, it is great for snorkeling and diving. This is a pebble beach with calm waters. Popular with local residents, its free for all. There are several small restaurants.

Klein Curacao a deserted island with awesome beaches
Meaning Little Curacao it is located about two hours by boat ride. It is a deserted island with snow white sands.
Curacao’s longest and whitest beach is on this tiny island. It is eight miles away from the south east coast of the big island.
To get there the visitor should arrange with dive operators to arrange a trip there and back. They usually offer a complete package including transportation, snorkeling or diving and picnic and refreshments for the day.
