I am going to mention just a few of the Best Beaches in Costa Rica. This country is proud to announce 300 beautiful beaches along the coasts of the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean.
There is a huge variety of sands along the Costa Rica Beaches, some are pure sugar white, and some are brown or even black. Not all of them are good for swimming but are good for surfing and vice-versa.
The Beach of Manuel Antonio National Park in Costa Rica
Manuel Antonio Beach
It is located on the Central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica and is part of the huge Manuel Antonio National Park. The views are awe inspiring and let alone the fantastic sunsets when the sun disappears into the Pacific. It is one of the Best Beaches in Costa Rica with a horseshoe bay with fine white sands, blue and green waters, and on the background the park with hilltops, waterfalls and jungles.
This beach is great for snorkeling and scuba diving, surfing, kayaking and diving. But who says you must do all this. I would just relax and enjoy the scenery.
Monctezuma Beach a well kept secret in Costa Rica
Montezuma
It is a well kept secret by Costa Ricans and some visitors. This little beach has a few relaxes places to swim and enjoy the day at the beach. You may experience some wildlife like the Capuchin Monkey while visiting Monctezuma
Nicoya Peninsula
This is not a beach but a combination of many beaches like Mal Pais, Tamarindo and a few remote like Playa Hermosa, Samara, Flamingo and Playa Grande.
Mal Pais
It is also located on the Pacific on the Nicoya Peninsula. It is considered a dream come true for surfers that arrive here from all over the world. It is still not so well known, so this is the time to visit before the thousands of visitors arrive. Here you may find luxury accommodations and peace and quiet. But if you prefer more silence head over to Santa Teresa or Manzanillo beaches.
Playa Dominical
It is recognized as a great surfer’s beach. Located about 45 km south of Manuel Antonio it offers surfers camps and surf shops. But you don’t have to be a surfer to enjoy the nightlife and the beautiful sands of Playa Dominical.
Tortuguero on Costa Rica's Caribbean
Tortuguero
This is what I call a sample of Costa Rica Ecotourism. Located on the Costa Rica Caribbean coast it offers tours in the jungle, hiking with amazing sceneries, guided safaris. Tortuguero National Park is home of many of the endangered species of this great country like tapirs, manatees, green sea turtles. Turtle are Tortugas in Spanish, so they called the beach Tortuguero.
Corcovado
Located in the famous Corcovado national Park on the Osa Peninsula. The sands are dark and sheltered by palm trees. The park itself is home to some of the most important species of wildlife in the country. From here you may take and short trip to the Isla del Caño for great diving.

Tamarindo Beach in Guanacaste, Costa Rica
Playa Tamarindo
Located in the area of Guanacaste it is a gathering place for those looking for world class shopping, dining, and entertainment. Here you may see the giant leatherback turtles that come ashore to lay their eggs.
Playa Samara
This beach is beautiful. But if you want to find a few more less developed ones keep going to Playa Carillo, just south of Samara. To the north there are two unknown beaches called Playa Buena Vista and Playa Barrigona.
Punta Uva and Manzanillo Beaches
These are the jewels of the Caribbean Coast. The feature emerald waters, coral reefs and palm lined white sand beaches.
I hope you enjoyed reading about some of the Best Beaches in Costa Rica. Find some time and visit them.
