On the Pacific and Indian Oceans

There are hundreds of Australian Beaches around such a big country that is also a continent. Some are very famous and crowded and some are off the beaten path and isolated.

One thing they have in common, golden sands and crystal clear waters. We are going to present here some of the most famous of them in no particular order to avoid the discussion of which is better than the other. In my opinion they are all gorgeous.

  • Whitehaven in Whitsundays, Queensland

Located on an island offshore the coast of Australia, near the Great Barrier Reef, it has been named by tourists and locals alike as one of the most beautiful beaches in world. As you walk the fine sands of this 6 km beach you feel like walking on baby powder. This paradise can be reached by air or by sea and it is worth the effort.

  • Wineglass Bay in the Island of Tasmania

This beach is located in Freycinet National Park in Tasmania, an island on the southeast of Australia across the sea from Melbourne. This beach formed in Wineglass Bay a perfect semicircle beach and as isolated as you may expect. It is never crowded and it doesn’t offer amenities like shops and vendors but here you’ll find beautiful waters, white sands and above all relaxation and peace.

When you talk about Australian Beaches, the first one that comes to mind is Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia. It is one of the country’s best beaches and perhaps one of the best beaches in the world. This is a complete beach with everything you want.

It has some of the softest sands you have ever seen spread over a kilometer length. Bondi Beach is home to the Bondi Surf Bathers, the oldest life saving club in Australia established in 1906.

  • Little Cove in Currumbin Beach, the Gold Coast

This is a beach preferred by surfers from all over the world. It also features some of the best surfing schools around. Little cove is a meeting place for young and athletic people.

  • The Gold Coast of Queensland

The Gold Coast is an area of more than twenty beaches one next to another. If you are looking for a great beach adventure one of the beaches in the Gold Coast is for you.

Some of them are Surfer’s Paradise and Main Beach, known for its excellent surfing properties. Another two that are great for families with small children are Nobby Beach Broad beach. Another of the beaches is Greenmount Beach, great for swimming and sun tanning.

It is by far one of the most stunning of Australian Beaches. Twenty two km of white sands surrounded by the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, that bathes Australia’s west, it is the real place for swimming and relaxation.

While on this beach you have to think twice if you are in Australia or anywhere else in the tropics. It is far from the big Australian cities. On this beach you may find many Japanese and Chinese pearl divers.

The sunsets are amazing. As the sun sinks in the west into the Indian Ocean, you may be sitting on a long chair and enjoying you favorite drink. Is this a dream? No, you are in one of the Top Beaches of the World.

  • Hyams Beach in Jervis Bay, near Sydney, NSW

It is known for the whitest sand in the world. The sun shines different because the reflex on the sand is so brilliant and the waters are as clear as it can be. Here you may find dolphins and whales. It is a great beach for families and also for nature lovers of all ages.

  • Bells Beach in Great Ocean Road, Victoria

This is home of the longest running surf competition in the world. If surfing is what you want, this is definitely your beach. They have shops, major surf equipment manufacturers who base their global operations there. The locals are prepared to receive you with a great attitude. In other words, Bell Beach is the surfing capital of the world.

  • Cottesloe in Perth, Western Australia

This is one of Perth most popular beaches. You may swim; snorkel, fish and surf on this beach or just sit around and watch the beachgoers and the families with children play on this spectacular beach on the Indian Ocean.

  • Four Mile Beach in the north coast near Cairns, NSW

It was named for the four miles of clean white sand, curves around one side of Port Douglas. Located along one of Australia's most scenic coastal routes, against a backdrop of Rainforest Mountains with a foreground of the Coral Sea, This is the perfect base to explore the exceptional World Heritage areas of the Daintree and the Great Barrier Reef Australia.

Australian Beaches on Fraser Island

It is located along the southern coast of Queensland, Australia, approximately 200 km north of Brisbane. Fraser Island stretches over 123 km in length and 22 km at its widest point. With an area of 184 000 hectares it is the largest sand island in the world.

Fraser island is a place of exceptional beauty, with its long uninterrupted white beaches flanked by strikingly colored sand cliffs, and over 100 freshwater lakes, some tea colored and others clear and blue all ringed by white sandy beaches.

Fraser Island is the only place in the world where tall rainforests are found growing on sand dunes at elevations of over 200 meters.

  • Surfers Point in Margaret River, Western Australia

Margaret River’s Surfers Point is justly named. This beach seems to be made for wave riders. The waves are so massive that can carry you 5oo meters on a good day. This is not a beach for beginners, but those with some experience in the surfing world, will find this beach the best place on the Planet.

  • Ninety Mile Beach in Gippsland, Victoria

It is located about 250 km from Melbourne. It is a great beach for big strolls on its sand dunes. The beach is also ideal for swimming, fishing, boating and sailing.
