Almeria Beaches can be divided into four geographical areas: Levante meaning east; Cabo la Gata; Bay of Almeria and Poniente meaning west.
These beaches are not as crowded as the rest of the Spanish Costas, but the beaches are spectacular and mostly unspoiled.

Naturism on Almeria Beaches
Many of the beaches of Almeria are Mediterranean Nude Beaches, which is legal in Spain.
The most known nudist beach in Almeria is the Levante beach of El Playazo Vera Playa, where not only the beach is for naturists but the restaurants and bars as well.
Located in San Jose, this is a family-oriented beach. It lies within Cabo de Gata natural Park and one of its attractions is a lava rock in the middle of its shores.
The sands are fine and clean with shallow waters, but without many facilities. You’ll find enough parking space.
This 2 and a half km long beach is one of the most popular in Almeria during weekends in summer time. It offers many services like restrooms, changing rooms, showers, sunbeds and umbrellas for a fee.
Go for a stroll on Paseo Maritimo and enjoy a nice meal in one of the “chiringuitos”, which are the typical beach restaurants in Spain.
Los Genoveses Beach
It is located 2 km from the town of San Jose in the Natural Park of Cabo la Gata. It’s a 1,200-meter-long stretch of sand of virgin beach without buildings or streets.
The only way to get there, is walking while enjoying the beautiful views of the bay and the Morron de los Genoveses, a huge 85-meter-tall volcanic cliff.

Las Negras Beach
This 850-meter-long beach is at the heart of the town of Nijar in Cabo de Gata. It sands are mixed with little pebbles and the waters are crystal clear. The natural barriers of this beach protect visitors from the winds while swimming or sunbathing.
This is a family friendly beach with many facilities such as showers, rescue service, access for disabled people and a large parking area. It offers a that connects the area with the small secluded bay of San Pedro.
Surrounding the beach is Cerro Negro made of dark volcanic rocks, that provide the most needed shade on a hot summer day.
Los Muertos Beach
It has been called a “Heaven on Earth”, despite its name. Its crystal-clear waters surround this 1600-meter-long beach, which is totally virgin.
It is frequented by nudists from all nationalities, that come here on every season to enjoy the solitude of this amazing beach.
Los Escullos Beach
This is a small fishermen village in Cabo de Gata, located between Isleta del Moro and Barco Beach.
It is surrounded by dunes of fine sand. From this beach enjoy the view of Castillo San Felipe built by Carlos III in the XVIII century.

Cala de Enmedio
Located in Nijar, has been designated as one of the best beaches in Europe by the New York Times.
The only way to get there to enjoy the black sands and clear blue waters is on foot or by boat. This isolation has made it famous among nudists.

Located in Rodalquilar, Almeria is about 3 km away from town. It is an impressive beach with easy access. Its gold sands and clear waters are looked upon by the awe-inspiring Castillo de San Ramon
